China rolls out the red carpet to welcome the pro-Maldives president and his wives with a grand reception.
President Dr. Mohammed Muizzu and his wife, Sajida Mohammed, arrived in China this morning for their inaugural visit, following an invitation from Chinese President Xi Jinping. The President is accompanied by a high-level delegation from the Maldives Government.
The delegation includes Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer, Economic Minister Mohammed Saeed, Fisheries Minister Ahmed Shiyam, Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal, Defense Minister Mohammed Gassan Maumoon, Housing Minister Dr. A.khaleel. Housing minister Ali Haider, Construction and Infrastructure Minister Dr. Muthalib, and several other ministers from the President’s Office.
The President's Office announced that official talks between Maldives and China are on the agenda during this visit, with both nations expected to exchange significant agreements across various fields, including trade, technical cooperation, socio-economic development, and technology.
Moreover, the President is set to participate in the Invest Maldives Forum in Fuzhou, engaging with Chinese businessmen to explore opportunities for strengthening social and economic ties between the two countries
